Privacy Policy for Concert Map
Last Updated: August 13, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to Concert Map. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This
Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and handle information when
you use our web application to discover concerts.
2. Information We Handle
Our goal is to minimize data collection while providing a personalized
experience.
-
Third-Party Service Data (Spotify/Last.fm): When you
connect your Spotify or Last.fm account, we access your top artists to
personalize your concert map. This connection is handled via OAuth; we
do not see or store your passwords. The list of your top artists is
stored directly in your browser's local storage, not on our servers.
-
Spotify Listening History Upload: If you choose to
upload your Spotify data export (.zip file),
it is processed entirely within your browser. The file
is never uploaded to our servers. We process your streaming history
locally on your machine to generate a ranked list of your top artists.
The resulting list is stored in your browser's local storage.
-
Manually Saved Artists: Artists you manually save are
stored only in your browser's local storage. This data is never sent to
our servers.
-
Shared Map Configuration: When you create a "Shared
Map," we store the list of artists, date filters, and map view settings
associated with that specific map link. This is necessary for the link
to be accessible to others. Your personal account information is not
stored with the shared map.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we handle to:
-
Provide the core functionality of the app: displaying a personalized map
of concerts.
-
Calculate the relevance and ranking of artists and events to provide you
with the best recommendations.
- Enable you to create and share custom concert maps with others.
- Maintain and improve our service.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We only share information in the
following, limited circumstances:
-
Third-Party Services: To provide our service, we
interact with a few third-party services. When you connect your account,
we communicate directly with Spotify or Last.fm to authenticate you and
retrieve your top artists. We do not share your personal listening data
with any of these third parties.
-
Shared Maps: If you create a shared map, the artist
list and configuration for that map will be publicly accessible to
anyone with the unique link.
-
Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if
required to do so by law.
5. Your Control Over Your Data
You have control over your information:
-
Service Connections: You can disconnect your Spotify or
Last.fm account at any time through their respective application
settings pages.
-
Data Deletion: You can delete your imported top artist
data at any time using the "Delete" function in the app's Control Panel.
This removes the data from your browser's local storage.
